The car companies are always looking for innovation in order to produce eco-friendly engines: so Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Volvo, Land Rover, Renault, IVECO, Scania, Fiat have produced many cars lines with AdBlue® tank; also some medium and light commercial vehicles like vans, earth-moving machines, vehicles for the transportation of persons.
AdBlue® has been used in some models of diesel cars since 2015, in order to reduce the nitrogen oxides emissions; the quantity used corresponds to about 0,5-1% of the diesel consumption (1 liter for 1,500 Km).
The tank can hold 15/25 liters of AdBlue® according to the car model. The AdBlue® tank, situated near the diesel tank or in the car boot under the spare tyre, is easily recognizable from the distinctive blue colour. Generally the AdBlue® filling is enough between a service and the following one. Otherwise, it is possible to fill up the AdBlue® tank using our drums equipped with spout, very easy to be used.
The car computer indicates that AdBlue® is missing; anyway the car can still drive for about 2000 Km; after that, the car stops and has to be repaired at the workshop.
Some car companies clearly specify to use certified AdBlue®, in order to keep the car guarantee.
For cars, Chimitex suggests the use of the 5/10 liters drums equipped with spout.

Consumption:

In the cars the tank can keep about 15-25 litres of AdBlue® and the consumption is about 1 litre for 1,500 km (0,5-1% of the diesel consumption).
In the industrial vehicles weighing more 3,5 t the consumption is about 5-6%.
In earth-moving machines and agricultural vehicles the consumption depends on the work type and mileage.

Regarding cars, the AdBlue® supply is usually enough between a car service and the following one, if maintenance is done regularly. Otherwise it is possible to take advantage of our drums with integrated spout, very easy to be used. Onboard car computer indicates that AdBlue® is missing, and the car can still drive for about 2,000 km. At the end, if the AdBlue® is not refuelled, the car stops definitively. Some car manufacturers recommend the use of certified AdBlue® , in order to keep the car warranty.
The product is not harmful , but we recommend the use of gloves and eyes protection.
